Psychotherapy
We provide individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Following an insight-oriented approach, we help people develop greater self-understanding and thereby a greater sense of control over their choices and actions. The main goal of this work is gaining perspective – for example, seeing how internally held fears or expectations shape your experience of life’s events and your relationships with others.
Psychotherapy is liberating because, in gaining perspective, you are able to see how forces you were previously unaware of were, in fact, driving your actions and reactions. Perspective gives you the ability to evaluate the context in which you live your life more accurately, and so allows you to choose what is right for you with more freedom and control.
Within this insight-oriented approach, we employ a variety of therapeutic modalities, including play therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches.
