
Dr. Andrew Goodwin is a clinical psychologist in supervised practice registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. He holds a Ph.D. in School and Clinical Child Psychology from the University of Toronto and provides assessment and psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, adults, and parents.
Dr. Goodwin has over ten years of experience working across a range of settings, including Holland Bloorview Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital, the SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health, and the Child Development Institute. He has also provided psychological services within school boards and university-based psychology clinics. He completed his pre-doctoral residency at the Framework Therapy and Assessment Centre. His research has focused on identity development, emotion regulation and parent–child co-regulation, and the cultivation of wisdom and wellbeing across the lifespan.
Dr. Goodwin’s clinical practice is grounded in psychodynamic and relational therapy, with an emphasis on attachment, identity formation, emotional development, and the impact of past experiences on current patterns of functioning. He also integrates evidence-based techniques when clinically indicated. He works with concerns including anxiety and mood disorders, neurodivergence (including ADHD, autism, and learning exceptionalities), trauma, self-concept and identity concerns, emotion regulation difficulties, and interpersonal challenges. He takes an attuned, reflective, and developmentally informed approach, viewing the therapeutic relationship as central to meaningful and lasting change.
