Miriam is a School Psychologist registered in New York state, currently completing her Post-Master’s Work Experience for the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She has extensive experience supporting children and adolescents with a range of challenges, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, and trauma-related diagnoses. Miriam is adept at using various counseling approaches, including art therapy, play therapy, mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to support the acquisition and development of social skills and coping strategies. In addition, her knowledge of psychological assessment allows her to conduct dynamic and meaningful evaluations that support evidence-based decision making.
Prior to working as a School Psychologist, Miriam was an elementary school teacher in Los Angeles, as well as working in the community offering support to adolescents with addiction, eating disorders, mood disorders, social maladjustment, familial dysfunction, homelessness and abuse. Miriam’s experiences have molded her into a passionate and devoted supporter of children and adolescents with a wide range of social-emotional and educational challenges.
