https://swathiswaminathan.comSwathi is a psychological associate in supervised practice registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. She provides assessment and individual therapy to children, adolescents, adults and seniors experiencing a range of cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Swathi’s approach as a clinician is compassionate, firmly focused on the client, and informed by scientific evidence.
Swathi received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Toronto, Canada, after receiving master’s degrees in clinical psychology (Christ University, India) and experimental psychology and cognitive neuroscience (University of Oxford, U.K.). She is an internationally recognized researcher on cognitive development and change across the lifespan (i.e., from early childhood to older adulthood), and her research has often involved large community and interdisciplinary collaborations to translate psychological scientific theory to clinical and community practice. Swathi also teaches university courses and supervises research students in Canada and India in the areas of statistics for psychology, cognitive development across the lifespan, and arts-based (especially musical) interventions for cognitive, emotional and social wellbeing. Swathi has a deep interest in understanding when and how scientific evidence can be used to inform clinical care, and she gets to think about this interplay daily through her work as a clinician, researcher and teacher.
